☕ 5 minute read
Every now and then, you come across an idea that makes you stop and think,
“Why haven’t I been doing this all along?”For me, that idea came from Mel Robbins and her HOT 15 concept.
The idea is simple. Spend just 15 focused minutes each day doing something that moves your business, your goals or your life forward.
At first, I thought, “Can 15 minutes really make that much of a difference?”
The more I thought about it, the more I realised I’d been looking at it all wrong.
Like many business owners, I’d often put off jobs because they felt too big.
“I’ll sort the website when I’ve got a whole day.”
“I’ll write a blog next week.”
“I’ll update my product pages when I’ve got more time.”
The problem is, that perfect time rarely comes.
So I decided to look at things differently.
What if I just started?
What if I spent 15 focused minutes improving one small part of Olive Glow?
Some days that might mean updating a product description.
Another day it could be replying to customers, organising stock, writing a journal entry, planning social media content or improving my website.
None of those jobs seem life changing on their own.
But together?
They build a business.
One thing I’ve learnt over the years is that success rarely comes from one huge decision.
It comes from hundreds of small decisions that nobody else sees.
The little improvements.
The behind-the-scenes jobs.
The things that don’t get likes on social media but quietly make your business stronger.
Today was one of those days for me.
I spent time improving my website, rewriting product pages, updating images and creating The Olive Glow Journal.
It wasn’t glamorous, but it felt productive.
More importantly, it’s something that will continue helping my business long after today.
💛 Beccy’s Tip
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, don’t think about everything you need to do.
Choose one task.
Set a timer for 15 minutes.
Start.
You might stop after 15 minutes…
Or you might surprise yourself and keep going.
Either way, you’ve made progress.
My Thoughts
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learnt in business is that consistency beats perfection every single time.
You don’t have to do everything today.
You just have to keep showing up.
Those small, steady improvements eventually become something you’re incredibly proud of.
Final Thoughts
I’m so glad I came across Mel Robbins’ HOT 15 idea because it reminded me that progress doesn’t have to be overwhelming.
Sometimes, the smallest actions create the biggest changes.
So if there’s something you’ve been putting off, whether it’s updating your website, learning a new skill or taking that first step towards your dream business, maybe today is the day to set your own HOT 15.
You never know where those 15 minutes might lead.
☕ From one spray tan artist to another…
Thank you for taking the time to read my journal.
Everything I share here comes from years of working with clients, building Olive Glow, learning through experience and continuing to grow every single day.
Whether you’ve been spraying for years or you’re just beginning your journey, I hope you leave each article with something useful you can take into your next working day.
Until next time…
With love,
Beccy x
